WORK EXPERIENCE
HIV Mental Health Program,
Counselor & Health Educator, Work Positive Assistance Project & “No Angel” study
Back-to-work counselor for a federally-funded research study of HIV-positive persons on disability. Duties include intervention development, and conducting individual and group intervention, and follow-up counseling with research subjects. Participate in grant writing and journal article writing. Also responsible for newsletter design and development.
Coordinate administration of and conduct interviews for a study of high-risk gay men. Conduct qualitative chain-analysis interviews based on Linehan’s Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for borderline personality disorder.

Program Coordinator, Statewide Intervention Training Program
Coordinate state-wide training program, “HIV Prevention Strategies for At-Risk Populations.” Duties include monthly and quarterly reporting, establishing training schedule, developing course components, and conducting workshops for prevention providers. Responsible for publication development, meeting the requirements of the scope of work, and supervision of MPH intern, graphic designer, and administrative assistant.
Also a counselor, group facilitator, and trainer for outreach staff and counselors for a NIDA-funded study of crack smokers, commercial sex workers, and drug-using men who have sex with men (MSM). Staff trainer for the CDC replication grant, “Community PROMISE” and provider of state-wide technical assistance to local community HIV planning groups. Also contracted as a trainer for the State Office of AIDS Mobile Testing Program.

Duties included coordinating Ready For Action and Listo para acción, multi-level HIV prevention interventions for gay and bi men. Presented projects at World AIDS Conferences,

Interventionist/Interviewer
Counselor and interviewer for Project RESPECT, a CDC-funded research study of STD clinic patients. Piloted various interventions and worked with clinic staff to integrate the study into clinic flow. Study required the implementation of client-centered counseling while maintaining strict adherence to research protocols.
Also conducted field-based interviews and site observations for the CDC Community AIDS Demonstration Project, a study of non-gay-identified men who have sex with men in public sex environments. Certified as an expert witness on public sex by
